A passion for healthy roses can lead to the desire to breed your own and Bob Matthews has done just that! His lifelong pursuit to hybridize healthy, new roses has resulted in these exquisite creations - all bred right here on our nursery and perfect for growing all over New Zealand.

It can take between 6 - 10 years (or more) until a new rose is ready for release to the public. One of the most important aspects of Bob's breeding programme isn't just genetics but also trialing under spray free conditions - resulting in the best easy care garden roses to enjoy.

Many of Bob's roses have gone on to win awards both in New Zealand and overseas. In recent years Bob, along with his daughter Samantha have been thrilled to introduce the 'MY ROSE COLLECTION' range exclusive to Matthews Roses.
